A good friend, Carlo Franchetti invited me to the inaugural event held on behalf of a group of artisan and family run wine estates, who collectively decided to form an association to promote their wines under the banner of Fonti di Vino, this being the first edition, held at the Fonteverde Resort and Spa, in San Casciano dei Bagni.

The event is under the tutelage of the Municipality of San Casciano dei Bagni in collaboration with nine local wineries. These nine wineries are located between the
Val d’ Orcia and Valdichiana:
Podernuovo a Palazzone
Il Poggio
Cantine Ravazzi
Sassopra
Gianni Barzi Farm
Sancaba
Giacomo Mori
Tenuta Le Forconate
Giacomo Baraldo Vigneron
The event was held at Casina delle Rose, a glorious Villa situated at the entrance of the resort and was fully supported by local dignitaries, journalists, members of the wine trade and wine lovers from the surrounding region.

The nine producers present have approximately 100 hectares of land under vine and collectively produce 280,000 bottles annually.

Sancaba
Bianco 2025
Toscana IGT
Grechetto 75% Trebbiano 25% (Tank sample)
Pale straw in colour. Concentrated aromas of white florals, lime leaf, grapefruit zest, distant lychee all appear on the aromatic profile. On the palate, undeniable structure, precise, crisp and fresh. Medium in textural tone. Fine delicate tannins are in play with zesty friendly acidity, the final outcome of this interplay will just enhance the overall balance. Saline infused energy in evidence. A subtle mix of oak and lemon zest appear on the back end that gives further lift to the already vertical nature of the imbibe. A unique opportunity to spoil oneself.
Points 95 TW

Pale ruby red in colour with a translucent undertone. Fine and elegant aromas rise from the glass, violet florals, pink rose petal, wild cherry, raspberry, dried strawberry, mild spice notes and distant smoky woodland scents. On the vertically inclined palate, this wine imprints its authority. Secondary nuances of Rainier cherry, garden herb and cranberry, appear then fade. So light and delicate the palate hardly notices the engagement has concluded.
